The last quarter of this year should be the most mobile holiday shopping season ever, according to the study by mobile marketing analytics platform Adjust. The global E-commerce App Report 2021: Top Trends in Mobile Shopping with Insights from Sensor Tower. showed that in-app revenue grew considerably in 2021.
Based on e-commerce application revenue trends in 2020 — when October, November, and December topped the previous nine months — the shopping season is expected to reach even higher heights this year.
Also according to the survey, Brazil was highlighted and registered the second highest number of downloads of e-commerce applications in 2021, surpassing China and only behind India. Shopee’s app was the most downloaded in its category, the study reported.
Globally, consumers are spending more time in-app per day, with session durations of 10.56 minutes.
“The most impressive thing is that e-commerce applications were able to retain the users they acquired and continue to grow and get even more new customers. It’s a testament to mobile’s ability to deliver convenient and optimized user experiences,” said Paul H. Müller, co-founder and CEO of Adjust.
